Do away with Risk Assessment

One of the major problems in the scientific community is the application of Risk Assessment to the decision making process of what is good for mankind. Too many decisions are based upon what is known as the LDL (Lethal Dose Limit) when bringing products to market.

Most of our environmental problems and nearly all of our medical and pharmacological problems are the result of deciding whether the profit of a process or substance outweighs the damage and liability by the use of them. We need to stop doing things that have a negative outcome, period!

  • Agree. Can you give any examples of the LDL criteria being applied? Then POW might be able speak out about it, if this idea gets enough votes.

  • bad idea

  • I object because sometimes a little bit of harm is outweighed by a lot of good (harm to human society for benefit of planet at large for example)
