The internet should be readily available anywhere in the world because it an infinite global knowledge database that everyone can contribute to. I am proposing global wi-fi, and like pay phones, there by internet stations for communication purposes.

  • Would a global wi-fi enable those with the technology/power to become big brother i.e.watching all the transmissions/emails etc around the world?

  • That's really sehwrd! Good to see the logic set out so well.

  • Wow, your post makes mine look feelbe. More power to you!

  • practically impossible, cost prohibitive though I would like to see the look on some starving native's face when you give him an IPhone and tell him he can get YouTube now

  • I like the idea, but I'd be uncomfortable with levels of radiation that strong surging through our atmosphere enough to give everyone in the world wifi access.

Now, so far, I assume the radiation signals like those for wifi do not readily demonstrate that one can get cancer, but on the other hand, who can honestly say they wouldn't with such a dramatic increase in strength over a long term? And the emissions of those signals will be mighty powerful on earth, maybe better to send them from specialized satellites strategically spaced to cover all areas of earth.

Anyhow, love the idea, but not liking the potential medical issues that could result from it.

  • Oh, and then privacy issues. You know radio waves can be sent out to see what people are doing. Who's to say that government won't implement a top-secret additional radio wave that is meant to bounce back to show locations of everyone in the world, of all moving bodies, and possibly even the shape of those bodies?

  • I object because how would you implement this anywhere and everywhere? This really isn't an urgent problem at the moment, either. Many people who don't currently have any means of accessing the internet would probably be better off with universal and easily accessible water filtration devices or competent healthcare.
